Abstract

Given that the national clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis indicate that data on the effectiveness of physiotherapy are contradictory, the evidence base is insufficient, we found it interesting to summarize the available data on the effectiveness of magnetic therapy and laser therapy in complex treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. In the recommendations for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee in the complex treatment is recommended to use cold applications and thermal procedures that are carried out using various methods. The review discusses the main pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis based on studies conducted over the past 20 years. The role of proinflammatory and antiinflammatory cytokines in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis and the possibility of the influence of magnetic therapy and laser therapy on the main pathogenesis of these diseases are considered. Based on numerous domestic and foreign clinical studies, the effectiveness of magnetic therapy and laser therapy in the complex treatment of RA and OA is considered.
